DIRTY ROCK

Blacklist is dirty rock. Dirty rock is an uncompromising and unapologetic force of rock and roll, routed firmly in the blues.

THE BAND

Singer and songwriter Kevin Falkenberg first emerged onto the Island music scene under the wing of the accomplished and multi-talented Lance Lapointe.
Moving on to form The Family Stoned with John Dryden and Ryan Connell; Kevin crafted new music daily and used weekly spots in several pubs to showcase and experiment with his unique and soul stirring style.
Kevin has drawn much inspiration early on from Hank Sr. and Johnny Cash. With a driving rockabilly style, he sought to combine this style with others, being largely influenced by Prince and Queens of the Stone Age. Kevin always believes in a non-compromising and unapologetic sound.
Kevin still showcases his talents in different genres as a solo artist but is also a performer in other groups such as RedFish Blues and Beachwhistle. His primarily focus remains as front man for the Dirty Rock band, Blacklist.
Going full circle, Blacklist is currently recording with Lance Lapointe for their debut album titled Honeydrip.

BB, born Robert Armich, hails from deep in the heart of Vancouver Island.
Raised on Johnny Cash and the delta blues; BB was moved by music long before standing in front of mentor Stevie Ray Vaughan that fateful night in Vancouver's infamous Commadore Ball Room.
Attacking the guitar and the stage like a man possessed; BB played nightly at some of the seediest bars the Vancouver Scene had to offer. He played in the Bearfoot Blues Band and frequented the Fairmont where bands were warned to “keep their backs to the wall”. BB has never ceased in the relentless pursuit of musical and emotional freedom. This passionate pursuit of music and life established a beautifully organic and original sound very harmonious with Blacklist.
To witness the creation of music by Robert "BB" Armich is to feel you are right where you belong, at home and among friends.

Cole Mercer could very well have been a guitar player had it not been for his father playing him Dark Side on the Moon and Peace Frog at twelve years old. Inspired by this, Cole picked up a bass and was soon taken on as a student by bass extraordinaire John Dryden, a member of the Canadian rock legends you know as Trooper.
By sixteen he was playing weekends at pubs up and down Vancouver Island and soon landed the roll in Blacklist upon the tragic loss of previous bass player Tyler Dupont.
Drawing further inspiration from the likes of Tim Commerford and Les Claypool; Cole has the hottest grooves and the coolest moves in town. He is known for his ass bouncin' freestyles and makin' the ladies smile.
The Baby in the group, but the big man on stage; Cole's presence is often felt before it is seen (as a bass player, he is often behind the pole). When he is not jammin', his days are spent catching waves along the shores of Tofino ...or sleeping.

Buck 10, aka Curtis Buxton is son of Darkwhores' drummer Frank “The Tank” Buxton. He was beating pillows in the living room with mom’s spoons before the age of two.
He has collected many accolades both on and off the stage including several medals as captain of his senior diving team.
Little is known of where he disappeared to for three years after graduation, but what we do know is Curt shaved his beard and luscious locks and came raging onto the Oklahoma music scene. Like a hell-bent locomotive relentlessly playing his way north, he has found a home on Vancouver Island with Blacklist.
Experience the fury and pure sex that is Curtis 'Buck 10' Buxton.
